Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, our driver/guide will meet you, and your day will begin with a complimentary tour of the city. Kigali city was named in 1907 by Dr. Richard Kandt, Rwanda's first colonial resident governor. Lush green hills surround the city, and it is often referred to as the land of a thousand hills. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to visit interesting spots such as the craft market, the Gisozi genocide memorial site, and the Kigali museum. After the city tour, we will depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where we will visit the genocide memorial site en route. You will arrive at your hotel late afternoon and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Rushaga Gorilla Haven's Lodge.
After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the national park's headquarters to meet your ranger guides for the day. After completing the park formalities, we will embark on a once-in-a-lifetime experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Once you spot them, you can watch them for one hour. This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wildlife experiences on earth. You get so close to these magnificent giant primates. You stare at each other blankly, not knowing who to look away first. Tracking the mountain gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience. These massive primates are extremely rare, with fewer than 700 living today. You will get as close as seven meters of them. The tracking may be fairly strenuous, up to six hours or longer at a relatively high altitude.
After breakfast, bid farewell to your host and head to Kigali. Enjoy some last-minute shopping in one of Africa's most welcoming capitals before heading back to the airport for your international flight home.

Every now and then a destination becomes so famous that people start questioning whether it can possibly live up to its own reputation. Serengeti National Park is one of those places. You have seen the photographs, watched the documentaries, read the articles, and somewhere in the back of your mind a small but persistent voice is asking whether the reality can genuinely match the legend. Whether all those wildebeest, all those lion prides, all that extraordinary golden savannah stretching to the horizon is truly as breathtaking in person as it looks on a screen. The short answer is yes. The longer answer is that the Serengeti does not just live up to its reputation it quietly exceeds it in ways that no photograph or documentary has ever managed to fully capture, and here is exactly why.
