We hope that your flight is for an early landing (before 10:00 am) in Uganda. Your safari will start from Entebbe International Airport where the assigned professional tour driver-guide will receive you and then depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi is a big habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda, harboring over 300 of them, which is almost half of the world’s gorilla population.
The drive will take you to southwest Uganda by road. You will cross the equator mark, then head to Mbarara city for lunch, thereafter pass through the hilly terrain of western Uganda into Bwindi. You will arrive and do little but just check in to your accommodation and relax as you prepare for the Bwindi gorilla trekking experience the next day.
After breakfast, proceed to the rangers’ post. You will receive a briefing on the do's and don’ts during the trekking. You will then enter the Bwindi Forest for your adventure. The area offers a dramatic, steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense. It is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain varies with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants, is unforgettable. Return to the accommodation, check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush, green-terraced hills that reach a height of 2,200 – 2,478m, but it’s the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water, that make it most magical - you could admire them all day.
You will have a relaxed breakfast with a spectacular view of Bunyonyi's little islands right in front of you. Thereafter, you will hit the road for the return to Entebbe. Arrive in the late afternoon/evening for your flight. We hope to see you (or any referral) on your next visit. Thanks for choosing Gorilla Pathfinders
