Depart on your flight from Cape Town Airport to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport. On your arrival, you are met and transferred to Pestana Kruger Lodge, situated on the banks of the Crocodile River. The river attracts large numbers of animals, and this area is renowned for its great wildlife viewing. The southern area of the Kruger National Park is the most rewarding area for game viewing.
Kruger is home to an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. The world-renowned Kruger Park offers a wildlife experience that ranks among the best in Africa. Later this afternoon, your first exhilarating game drive in an open game-viewing vehicle will be undertaken in Kruger Park under the guidance of a Kruger field guide. Dinner will be enjoyed in the lodge’s restaurant upon your return.
Note: Due to possible fluctuations in airfare and airport taxes, all prices are subject to change.
An early wake-up call signals the start of an exciting day in Big 5 territory. This is a special time of day as the Kruger awakens and comes to life. Since this is a “Big 5” territory, encountering lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, and all the other iconic wildlife of Africa is possible on this safari. Excitement will mount as you start seeing some of the numerous animals that inhabit this magnificent wildlife sanctuary. There are thrilling encounters around every corner!
Return to the lodge for breakfast and spend the middle of the day at leisure. Relax at the pool or enjoy the views from your Premium River View room balcony or from the restaurant's deck. Lunch can be enjoyed on the deck at Pestana Kruger Lodge, which overlooks the Crocodile River and the Kruger Park (at your own cost).
Later this afternoon, you will be collected for your late afternoon/sunset open vehicle safari. After your game drive, you will return to Pestana Kruger Lodge for dinner.
After breakfast, you are collected for a full-day tour of the Panorama Route. The Panorama Route and the Blyde River Canyon are arguably one of the most beautiful and popular travel destinations in South Africa. Here, in the northeastern part of the Great Escarpment, the inland plateau declines abruptly and steeply and opens up fantastic views of the plains of the Lowveld up to a thousand metres below.
Not only does the Panorama Route offer the most remarkable vistas over the Lowveld, but it is also home to phenomenal geographical features such as waterfalls, canyons, gorges, river-eroded potholes and much more. Coming from each direction, the Panorama Route converges into the third-largest canyon in the world - the Blyde River Canyon. Attractions that will be visited are the viewpoint over the Blyde River Canyon at the Three Rondavels, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and God’s Window. A light lunch is included today.
Dinner is enjoyed this evening in the restaurant at Pestana Kruger Lodge.

Every now and then a destination becomes so famous that people start questioning whether it can possibly live up to its own reputation. Serengeti National Park is one of those places. You have seen the photographs, watched the documentaries, read the articles, and somewhere in the back of your mind a small but persistent voice is asking whether the reality can genuinely match the legend. Whether all those wildebeest, all those lion prides, all that extraordinary golden savannah stretching to the horizon is truly as breathtaking in person as it looks on a screen. The short answer is yes. The longer answer is that the Serengeti does not just live up to its reputation it quietly exceeds it in ways that no photograph or documentary has ever managed to fully capture, and here is exactly why.
