Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport or starting at your hotel of stay, you will be welcomed to the pearl of Africa by our safari guide, who will brief you about Uganda as you embark on a road trip to Lake Mburo National Park. The travel time from Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park is approximately 4.5 hours by car, covering a distance of about 225 kilometers.
It's recommended to start your journey early to make the most of your day and enjoy the scenic views along the way. Lunch will be served either during the journey or upon arrival at the lodge, depending on the departure time. When you reach, you have the option to unwind and relax or embark on an exciting evening game drive, with the added thrill of a night game drive, where you'll have the chance to spot nocturnal creatures, including the elusive leopard.
After a relaxed breakfast, You'll embark on a guided walking safari, accompanied by an armed ranger guide, to explore the wilderness of Lake Mburo National Park on foot. Some of the animals you may spot on a walking safari in Lake Mburo, include: a small population of Rothschild's giraffes, Impalas, zebras, buffaloes, waterbucks, and bushbucks, among others. Lake Mburo is also a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 300 species recorded in the park.
After enjoying lunch, you'll check out of the lodge and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, driving through the volcanic landscape with steep sides to the home of the mountain gorillas. On arrival at your accommodation, relax as you prepare for gorilla trekking the following day.
Wake up early in the morning to enjoy breakfast and get into your gorilla trekking attire ready to trek the mountain gorillas of Bwindi. The highlight of your safari is meeting the gentle giants of Bwindi. Hikers will especially love the trekking in the ecosystem of the park.
The trek takes 3-4 hours, depending on where you find the gorillas. The park ranger will interpret the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the gorillas. Once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them.
You'll have the option to take a packed lunch with you on the trek to keep your energy levels up, or alternatively, you can choose to enjoy your lunch after completing the trek.
Check out later then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. You'll drive through the misty hills and hope to reach the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the lodge's terrace, taking in the stunning views of Lake Bunyonyi's islands and the refreshing sounds from the the little birds. Afterwards, begin your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe, with a scheduled stopover at the Uganda Equator for lunch and a taste of locally-sourced, organic coffee.
