Day 1 Arrival in Kigali and Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

A Gorilla Pathfinder's guide will pick you up in Kigali and drive you to Volcanoes National Park. Before driving to Volcanoes National Park, a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial can be scheduled. The drive from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park is scheduled for 3 hours. On arrival at Volcanoes National Park, visit the Ibyi'wacu Cultural Centre to experience Rwandan culture and customs. There is also an option to visit the Ellen DeGeneres Centre for Conservation. Dinner and overnight at a budget guest house in Musanze town.

Lodge Near Volcanoes National Park
Day 2 Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park and Transfer to Bwindi National Park

We will start the day with a morning golden monkey trekking adventure in Volcanoes National Park. Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda immediately after the golden monkey trekking activity. The transfer to Bwindi National Park will go through the Rwanda-Uganda border at Cyanika. Dinner and overnight at a lodge

Day 3 Gorilla Trekking at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will head to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The national park guide will conduct a presentation covering the basics of what to expect during the gorilla trek. The national guide will assign the gorilla trekking group during the pre-trekking briefing. Other visitors will likely join you. The gorilla trek can take a few hours, depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. Dinner and overnight at a lodge in the Rushaga area

Lodge Near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Day 4 Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for Game Drives

The tour will take you through the stunning landscapes of western Uganda. We will start the journey in the morning from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and drive to northern Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will arrive at the park in the late afternoon. On arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park, join an afternoon game drive to spot wildlife life (buffalos, elephants, and many others) in the Kasenyi plains. After the game drive at the Kasenyi plains, we will transfer to the accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Day 5 Kasenyi Plains Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Trip

You will start the day with an early morning breakfast at the lodge. Afterward, we proceed to the famed Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot various wild animals. Kasenyi plains dwell in the vast savannahs of the Albertine Rift in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It will be a morning full of adventure! Expect to encounter lions, herds of buffalos, elephants, Uganda kobs, topis, and bushbucks. While spotting the "Big Five" in the park is not guaranteed, on a lucky day, you may see leopards make it to the "Big Four." We will return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, join the Kazinga Channel boat cruise for an afternoon of wild game viewing. You will spot crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and bird species on the channel waters. After the boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, we will transfer to the guest house for dinner and overnight.

Lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Day 6 Chimpanzee Trekking at Kalinzu Forest Reserve and Drive to Kigali

After early morning breakfast, we will drive to the Kalinzu Forest Reserve to experience trekking the chimpanzees in their forest home. If you are lucky on the trek, you may also encounter other species of monkeys in the Kalinzu Forest. These include the colobus monkey, olive baboon, and red-tailed monkey. Transfer to Kigali after the chimp trek. Driving to Kampala or Entebbe after the chimpanzee trek at Kalinzu forest is also possible. The drive from the Kalinzu forest to Kigali is estimated to take 6-7hrs.
