You will be picked up after a relaxed breakfast at your hotel at 7:00am and transferred to Akagera National Park by our safari guide. The journey to Akagera National Park takes about 2.5 hours, depending on the number of stopovers along the way. The route is beautiful as the road winds through the landscapes en route to the park, so please feel free to ask the guide for stopovers to take photos.
Upon arrival at the park, we will proceed to our accommodation with a short game drive en route. We will check in and later head for a boat trip on Lake Ihema to watch hippos and crocodiles in the water or on the shores. You will probably see buffaloes and elephants wallowing by the water banks. Finally, we will return to the lodge for dinner and our overnight stay.
After an early morning breakfast at 7:00am, we will depart on a morning game drive in Akagera National Park to catch up with late hunters and early risers. We will search for big mammals like elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, several antelope species, and the recently re-introduced lions and rhinos. The park has a varied habitat for wildlife and is home to many bird species—over 500 bird species in the park make it a birding paradise!
You will leave the lodge with a packed lunch to enjoy during the game drive. The game drive will last about 6 hours, depending on your interests and the sights. Then, finally, we will start the journey back to Kigali.

Every now and then a destination becomes so famous that people start questioning whether it can possibly live up to its own reputation. Serengeti National Park is one of those places. You have seen the photographs, watched the documentaries, read the articles, and somewhere in the back of your mind a small but persistent voice is asking whether the reality can genuinely match the legend. Whether all those wildebeest, all those lion prides, all that extraordinary golden savannah stretching to the horizon is truly as breathtaking in person as it looks on a screen. The short answer is yes. The longer answer is that the Serengeti does not just live up to its reputation it quietly exceeds it in ways that no photograph or documentary has ever managed to fully capture, and here is exactly why.
