After an early morning breakfast at your hotel in kigali, your driver guide will meet you ready to start your trip to Akagera National Park. You will on arrival check in at the hotel and go for the afternoon boat trip on Lake Ihema. You will exit the park at Nothern Nyungwe gate and proceed to Volcanoes National Park through Byumba. After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park headquarters at Kinigi ahead of the Bisoke Volcano Trekking. Mount Bisoke (also Visoke) is an active Volcano in the Virunga Mountains of the Albertine Rift in the western branch of the East African Rift. It straddles the border of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo but the summit/Crater lake is located in Rwanda. After the volcano hike, you will return to the hotel. After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters at Kinigi to go for golden monkey tracking. These primates are beautiful, endangered, and more agile than the mountain gorillas. They live in bamboo thickets on the lower slopes of the mountains. Tracking them acclimatizes you perfectly to the slight altitude, marking your last views of the park's environs. This will be followed by a transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Uganda. Your overnight stay will be at Travelers Rest or similar.
After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the ranger station for Uganda Gorilla Trekking Briefing on dos and don’ts while you will be interacting with gorillas. Afterward, you will be accompanied by a senior ranger guide and hike into the forest in search of gorillas. Once you find them, you will have an hour with them. You'll have time to sit and observe them at very close quarters of 10 meters. After the experience, you will return to the lodge. Your overnight stay will be at Travelers Rest Hotel or similar.
A leisurely breakfast will be followed by a transfer back to Kigali leaving the magnificent forest to the gorillas marking the end of the 7-day Rwanda Uganda gorilla trekking and wildlife safari. Upon arrival in Kigali, Rwanda, if time allows, you will visit the genocide museum. Afterward, your driver-guide will be advised on the drop-off point at your hotel or at the airport targeting your outbound departure time.
